The need to reduce energy consumption has triggered a strong increase in heat pump and AHU installations. In response to the needs of the manufacturers of these heating units, VARO has created ad-hoc solutions for automated system fan covers.
In 2022, a new record was set in the heat pump market; 3 million new units were sold, corresponding to an overall European growth of almost 38% compared to 2021, and figures for 2023 show a further increase on 2022.
With sales in 2022, it’s been reached 20 million heat pumps installed in Europe – both for heating and hot water – supplying energy to about 16 per cent of residential and commercial buildings across the continent.
The number of heat pumps sold only in 2022 permit to save around 4 billion cubic metres of natural gas, thus avoiding around 8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The exponential growth of heat pump sales will continue as decarbonisation needs become more pressing and urgent and are actively supported by the governments of European countries.
New production needs require new production solutions
Not only in the domestic sector, but also in industrial and commercial plants, the installation of AHUs for space heating and cooling is increasing.
The growing demand for new heating systems has generated an exponential increase in the demand for various components, including fan guards. To meet the needs of these markets, VARO has developed an automated robot cell (different systems) for the production of fan guard grilles.
From coil to fan cover
Thanks to the use of different templates, the solution created by VARO can produce different fan guards with a quick changeover.
With the combination of VARO’s ring machine – MAS-2 and Robot cell, it is possible to completely produce fan guards from a coil (high quality fan guards).
